8:00 AM 2:00 PM : Beginner Backcountry Ski Tour
Enjoy Tahoe’s friendliest and most fun backcountry terrain with Alpenglow family member and Points North Heli Guide Jeff Dostie. The half day tour is designed to introduce beginners to the amazing landscape of the Lake Tahoe backcountry in a safe and fun manner.
8:00 AM 2:00 PM: AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Education Day1
While the class is free for six lucky winners, all participants must cover the $65 cost of materials for the class, including AIARE certificate, field guide, etc. All participants must attend all three days of class to receive certification. Six lucky participants will win a Free $350 Aiare Level I class with Rich Meyer Alpine Guide!
9:00 AM 11:00 AM: Youth Backcountry Splitboard Tour
Join Jones athlete and Exum Ambassador Iris Lazzereschi for a youth splitboard and backcountry essentials tour in the Lake Tahoe backcountry. Riders must be 9 13 in age and have an advanced set of snowboarding skills.
The half day tour will cover the essentials of backcountry splitboarding including beacon technology and saftey methods, how to shovel and probe in a burial scenario and how to navigate terrain. The group will end the tour with s’mores and high fives. The tour is focused on youth splitboarders, defined as a backcountry enthusiast that has all the needed equipment for touring but has only done so less than 10 times. Participants MUST possess confident skiing skills be able to efficiently descend “black diamond” terrain at a ski resort. Rose Trailhead at an elevation of approximately
8,900′. Snowshoers will be treated to impressive scenery throughout this trek with the first westerly mile skirting 600′ above Tahoe Meadows offering expansive views of Lake Tahoe and the open meadow below through this wide open slope. The trail then turns north and continues to climb through the peaceful stillness of a snow covered forest full of aspens, and ponderosa,
sugar, Jeffrey, white, and lodge pole pines.
After a little over mile 3, your destination awaits at 9,380′. Frog Pond, also known as Snow Pond, ices over and becomes strong enough to stand on its beauty. The first part of the hike is a steady ascent and not for beginners or participants effected by altitude. Physical fitness is a must. This hike is for adult participants with prior snowshoe experience hiking at least 5 miles.
9:00 AM 2:00 PM: Women’s Beginner Backcountry Ski Tour
Enjoy Tahoe’s friendliest and most fun backcountry terrain with local guiding outfit the Backcountry Babes. The half day tour is designed to introduce beginners to the amazing landscape of the Lake Tahoe backcountry in a safe and fun manner.
The tour is focused on beginners, defined as a backcountry enthusiast that has all the needed equipment for touring but has only done so less than 10 times.
Participants MUST possess confident skiing skills and be able to efficiently descend “black diamond” terrain at a ski resort. You must also be in strong physical condition and be able to comfortably hike uphill for over 2,000 vertical feet.

8:30 AM 10:30 AM: Classic Nordic Ski Tour with Olympian Glen Jobe
The event is open to intermediate and above skiers and is designed to be mellow in nature. The goal is to go skiing with a celebrity, make new friends and enjoy the trails of Tahoe Cross Country.
