SUNBURY An Allentown man accused of stabbing a Northumberland County woman in Milton pleaded no contest to a felony count of aggravated assault in Northumberland County Court on Monday.
Northumberland County Judge Paige Rosini immediately sentenced Randy Beamer, 28, to 21 to 42 months in state prison followed by two years probation, plus fines, court costs and fees. He must have no contact with the victim.
In pleading no contest, Beamer is not admitting guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to find him guilty if the case proceeds to trial. Four other charges, including another felony count of aggravated assault, are not being processed as part of the plea deal.
Beamer, on Feb. 12 in Delaware Township, stabbeda woman in the head, face and hands while she was sleeping on Beamer’s sofa, according to Milton State Police.
Beamer kept yelling “you set me up” at the woman while he continued to stab her, police said. The woman told troopers she had no idea why Beamer was yelling at her or assaulting her, police said.
